The story of &TEMPEL began long before the studio itself. At just eight years old, Camilla van den Tempel sketched her first house. It was minimalist and serene with marble floors, tall sliding doors, high ceilings, and expansive rooms filled with light. More than a childhood drawing, it was the beginning of a philosophy that continues to guide her design studio today.
When Camilla founded &TEMPEL in 2003, it was with a clear intent. She wanted to create spaces that feel timeless, authentic, and resonant. Camilla is always at the heart of every project, personally bringing each concept to life and working relentlessly on every detail in close collaboration with her team. Nothing escapes her eye and she ensures that every line, material and surface is considered. No detail is too small, for Camilla believes that true refinement lies in the details – from the proportions of a room to the way tiles meet and materials are combined.
